If you’re a fan of characters who rely on footsie tools rather than fists, she’s an excellent choice. Her combos also deal good damage, she has a divekick, and is pretty mobile. Without these stocks, her special moves become riskier and less safe, underscoring the importance of strategically obtaining charges. ![]() Juri is known for her excellent poking attacks, and a formidable throwing technique, and when she has those coveted Fuha stocks, she becomes a force to be reckoned with. However, Street Fighter 6 takes a different approach by using these stocks to enhance her moves, rather than being a requirement for their execution. In Street Fighter 5, the taekwondo sadist Juri relied on her Fuhajin special move to store Fuha stocks, which were essential for executing certain special moves. In this entry, we’ll be focusing on Juri, a Taekwando fighter with a mean streak and a shady Street Fighter past since part 4. As such, the game’s roster for its launch is set with 18 characters, each with their various playstyles. "Why is Juri sitting on the tire?" "I think it's cool"Īlso, Kimberly movement is matching with BGM #SF6 Fighter 6 is coming out on 2nd June, which is just less than a month away. You can see Juri's SF6 character select screen animation below courtesy of HiFight. Street Fighter 6 is due out sometime in 2023. Ryu, Chun-Li, Jamie, Luke, Guile, Kimberly, and Juri are all set to be playable in Capcom's upcoming title. She's also got a bit of a Spider-Man thing going on here with this pose, which is fitting considering her love of spiders.Īs it stands right now, seven different characters have been revealed for Street Fighter 6. The slight shifts she makes with her legs to stay atop the tire look awesome, and though it's subtle, it is a nice touch. With Juri being in a squatting position, we can actually see her balancing herself on top of the tire all while being lost in her phone. As odd as it is, Juri's animation there actually is quite cool. That still doesn't quite explain the character select screen pose, though, as that tire is clearly way too large for her bike.īut, hey! If the reason is indeed "it would be cool," then I can live with that. I mean, Juri does ride a motorcycle, and she could be seen riding one in her Street Fighter 6 reveal trailer. However, Juri and Abigail don't have any connections that we know of, at least not in previous Street Fighter games, so who knows? The logical tie we can make is that the tire is large and could be a reference to Abigail, whose scrapyard is confirmed to be a location in Street Fighter 6. In terms of what a tire has to do with Juri, though, that remains unclear to me (and seemingly the rest of the community). When hovering over her on the character select screen the classic street fighter can be seen sitting on some luggage, which is a direct reference to an old piece of official Street Fighter artwork. Now, we do see something similar with Chun-Li in Street Fighter 6. ![]() that's it! That's the explanation behind Juri's character select screen pose. "I thought it'd be cool," Nakayama explained (thanks to the translation of our very own Nick "MajinTenshinhan" Taylor). While it's possible that this still might be the case, the actual reason why Juri is crouching on a tire is much simpler than that, according to Nakayama. It's clear that Capcom is injecting all kinds of references to other Street Fighter and Final Fight titles into Street Fighter 6, and one might think that the tire is alluding to another fighter or game.
